anything but a card—ribbons-stvabccb05

carolina has a new challenge up.  we were to use a ribbon with a circle or flower—i chose a paper flower.

IMG_1410web

here’s a close up of the flower…

IMG_1413web

i punched out 8 sheets of magazine print, crinkled them up, and inked the edges.  a cream brad in the center holds it all together.

the candy bag is made of 2 parts---a cream envelope with the top cut off, and the inner liner is a glassine bag that has been scalloped. i inked the edges of the envelope also.

the sentiment is from warm and wonderful-gina k.  all thats left is a strip of black polka dot paper, and cream ribbon—oh, and the candy, of course!

this week we were to make a bag topper.  you can join here.

IMG_1395web

i started with a brown paper bag, stamping it with warm and wonderful stamp set-gina k, in chocolate, holiday red, and white-ctmh.  the topper is pti’s stamper select white paper stamped with chocolate, and holiday red-ctmh.

two holes were punched for the pure poppy ribbon-pti and twine closure.  to finish, i stamped the mittens, cut them out and attached them to the twine.  they are hanging from a red brad with 2 snowflakes.

papertrey bloghop-a christmas thank you…

                          bloghoplogo

each year i hang a lighted wreath on my 6’ mirror and usually, i have a rusty star hanging in the middle of the wreath.

this year, i made a cute stocking and added it to the wreath.  i can’t sew, and had no pattern, so i’m loving how this stocking turned out.

so, this is my inspiration for the bloghop, and my favorite christmas decoration this year.

this card is a christmas thank you card.

here is the inside of the thank you.

etched baking dish…

this is my niece’s first christmas in her first home.  i wanted to do something for her and this is what i came up with.

i used my cricut to cut her name in vinyl.  the vinyl acts as a stencil and sticks to the glass baking dish lid.   then, i applied etching cream.  after 10 minutes, i rinsed off the cream.  too easy and looks great.

this is a pic of the finished project.  i got the glass loaf pan at walmart.  i liked that it came with a lid.

IMG_1099web

here is the best pic i could get of the etching.  its hard to tell, but the name is etched on the lid.

IMG_1103web

i included a package of banana nut bread and a cute dish cloth.

IMG_1101web

this is a gift that would be good for a thank you, for birthdays, weddings, house warmings, etc.  the glass loaf was just $7.00, the towel cost $1.50 and the bread mix was 78 cents!

last minute projects…

IMG_1079

i’ve been wanting to make this stocking, and finally, found the time to do it.  it’s made of two colors of osnaburg material.  its a shorter length than normal and i added 2” of ruffles on the cuff and some greenery in the top.  i really like how it turned out.

IMG_1040web

i machine embroidered names and snowmen on small pouches that i made to hold candy and small gifts. bad pic, sorry…

stamp tv’s-anything but a card winner…

i recently entered this challenge with this tag and won a stamp set from gina k!  i picked the  warm and wonderful set.  aren’t they so sweet?  thank you so much, gina!

moxie fab’s all creatures challenge…

in cath’s challenge, we were to make a card with any “creature”.  it’s time for christmas thank you cards.  (this could easily be a gift card  holder, too).   if you change the sentiment on the inside, it could be used all year around.

i stamped the text with my new stamp set from pti—i love this set!  i cut the card with my cricut using tags, bags, boxes and more.  i hand cut the large curve below the bird and folded up the bottom of the card and tucked it into the curve.

IMG_1015web

here is the inside of the thank you.  i added lines, because i can’t write in a straight line without them!

moxies tuesday trigger-inspiration on a platter…

carolyn king submitted this week’s trigger—isn’t it adorable?!  you can join this challenge here.

ReindeerPlatter12inF9

i decided to go with a clean and simple card.  i cut the deer with my gypsy, using gypsy wanderings.  the red, green and white paper are all from archivers open stock.  a punch was used to scallop the bottom of the green paper.

IMG_0985web

here you can see that i used the negative part of the cut.  the wreath is punched from martha stewart’s sprig punch.  the berries were punched with my crop a dile.

IMG_0988web

these would make great gift tags, too. i plan on using this card to write a thank you.  thanks for looking!

remember this cardpapercraft connection just picked it as a winner!  they are giving me a free years subscription to papercrafts magazine!  how great is that!  thank you, papercraft!!  please check out their site—its full of wonderful inspiration and ideas!

moxie’s tuesday trigger-double the fun challenge…

Matine Patchwork Stocking from Pottery Barn

i love this trigger pic!   you can join cath’s challenge this week here.

i went with the red and cream colors and the stocking theme for my invitation card.  i love papertreys stocking prints stamp set—it comes with wonderful stockings and great sentiments.

for the red stocking on the front of the card, i stamped the “outline” stocking onto pure poppy and cut it out, leaving off the cuff.   IMG_0954web

i then, stamped the same stamp on the inside of the card.  you get two different looks from the same stamp.

IMG_0949web

the base is rustic cream-pti, the toile print was from hobby lobby’s open stock and i scalloped the bottom with a punch.

the ribbon is pure poppy-pti.  the ink is cranberry-ctmh.  i used a bronze eyelet in the stocking and cream twine to tie the stocking to the ribbon.  the envelope has vintage labels stamps-pti.
